About the role
We are seeking a skilled Refrigeration Mechanic to join the team at River to Hills Refrigeration Pty Ltd. This is a part-time position based in Mount Barker, SA 5251. As a Refrigeration Mechanic, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair and servicing of refrigeration and air conditioning systems for our diverse client base. This role is essential to maintaining our reputation for quality workmanship and reliable service delivery across the Adelaide Hills region.
This position requires a minimum commitment of 10-15 hours per week.
Key responsibilities
Install, maintain and repair refrigeration and air conditioning systems in residential, commercial settings
Diagnose faults in refrigeration equipment and determine appropriate repair solutions
Perform routine servicing and preventative maintenance on refrigeration and Air-conditioning systems to ensure optimal performance
Test and charge refrigeration systems with appropriate refrigerants in compliance with environmental regulations
Interpret technical drawings, schematics and work orders to complete tasks accurately
Maintain accurate records of all work completed and parts used
Comply with health and safety regulations and industry standards at all times
Provide excellent customer service and communicate professionally with clients about repair options and costs
Collaborate with other team members to ensure jobs are completed efficiently and to the highest standard
What we're looking for
Completed apprenticeship or formal qualification in refrigeration and air conditioning ( compliance with SA regulations)
Valid driver's licence and reliable access to transport
Strong technical knowledge of refrigeration systems, including heat pump technology and commercial cooling systems
Ability to work independently and manage your time effectively on multiple job sites
Problem-solving skills and attention to detail when diagnosing and repairing equipment
Sound understanding of health and safety requirements specific to refrigeration work
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Physical fitness to perform manual labour including lifting, bending and working at heights
Preferred: Experience in both residential and commercial refrigeration installations and repairs
Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a refrigeration mechanic is required
