About Us

Verifire is a well-established SA owned company providing service and installation of fire alarm systems throughout South Australia for the last 25 years.

 About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-focused Fire Testing Technician to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, problem-solving, and ensuring life-safety systems operate at peak performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire protection systems, including:

    • Fire alarms

    • Sprinkler systems

    • Fire extinguishers

    • Emergency lighting

    • Smoke control systems

  • Perform routine and annual fire system compliance testing

  • Document test results and prepare detailed reports

  • Troubleshoot system faults and recommend corrective actions

  • Ensure compliance with relevant fire safety standards and regulations

  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities

  • Maintain testing equipment and ensure calibration accuracy

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s licence – all our vehicles are manual

  • National Police Clearance (or willing to obtain)

  • DCSI Working with Children & Aged Care Clearances (or willing to obtain)

  • White Card

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

 Preferred but not essential

  • Experience in fire protection systems, electrical systems, or mechanical testing

  • Knowledge of fire safety standards and codes (e.g., NFPA or local equivalents)

  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to read technical drawings and schematics

  • Relevant certification in fire protection or electrical trade

  • Experience in testing and commissioning of fire systems (preferred but not essential)
