Metal Fabrication Apprenticeship - Certificate III in Engineering - Metal Fabrication (MEM31922)

ATEC Group Training is offering an exciting opportunity for motivated individuals to kickstart their career in engineering fabrication through a paid apprenticeship. Multiple positions are available across a range of host employers throughout Adelaide of reputable companies in the fabrication sectors.

As a highly recognised apprentice and trainee employer service, ATEC manages the entirety of your apprenticeship. You'll be supported by your own dedicated consultant, mentored throughout the duration of your placement, and matched with reputable host employers to ensure you receive high-quality on-the-job training in a safe and supportive environment.

This apprenticeship offers a valuable pathway to gain hands-on fabrication experience while working towards a nationally recognised Certificate III in Engineering - Metal Fabrication (MEM31922) - all while getting paid!


Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the fabrication, cutting, welding, and assembling of metal components and structures;

  • Operate and learn various tools and machinery, including guillotines, press brakes, rollovers, and welding equipment;

  • Measure, mark out, and inspect metal materials to ensure accuracy and quality;

  • Learn to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications;

  • Support qualified tradespeople in workshop operations and on-site installations;

  • Assist with general workshop duties including cleaning, maintenance, and stock control;

  • Following company policies and industry regulations; and

  • Attending training towards the qualification.


Applicants should possess:

We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable candidates who are:

  • Safety first attitude and awareness of workplace safety practices;

  • Physically fit and a high level of energy for manual work;

  • A current driver's licence and reliable transport;

  • Eager to learn with a strong willingness to listen and grow;

  • Organised, punctual, and able to manage time effectively;

  • Comfortable working both indepentantly and as part of a team;

  • Quick-thinking with solid problem solving skills;

  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment; and

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to read and understand instructions.

Desirable for your application, but not essential:

  • Previous experience in fabrication or a similar environment;

  • Completion of a Certificate II in Engineering Pathways (MEM20422); and

  • Ability to confidently operate a manual transmission vehicle.
