The Role
Naval Construction Branch (NCB) is a critical driver in the national shipbuilding enterprise. Effective and efficient long-term, continuous shipbuilding requires NCB's people to be talented, motivated and skilled to drive this critical national agenda.
The NCB Logistics Directorate mission is to successfully deliver technical services, shipyard logistics and supplies in support of continuous naval ship-building; utilising our expertise, knowledge and skills, with a culture of collaboration, integrity and agility.
The position works in complex operating environment as part of NCB, which operates in Adelaide and Henderson. This position support the implementation and delivery of continuous shipbuilding and is integral part of the Logistic Support area within NCB. The Logistics directorate goals are to deliver the NCB capability efficiently and effectively, and to continuously improve strategies and processes.
The key responsibilities of the APS 6 Logistics Technician are:
NCB is furthering continuous naval shipbuilding and growing sovereign capability by overseeing the construction to ensure quality and standards are met, storing lessons learnt and developing standard shipbuilding procedures for construction.
NCB will oversee the construction of many different Navy vessels including Offshore Patrol Vessels, Hunter Class Frigates, Young Endeavour, Evolved Cape Class and Pacific Patrol Boats. Working at NCB will enable you to be at the grassroots of continuous naval shipbuilding, where you are part of a working shipyard, being able to see and contribute to the vessels delivered and used in service by Navy.
