About The Team
When you join the Infrastructure Projects team, you’ll join a group of professionals delivering Australia’s future rail network. To help grow rail freight in Australia, the team is focused on ensuring the delivery of critical construction projects across the country, including implementation of our >$2 billion Network Investment Program developed with the Australian Government. The team plays a pivotal role in ARTC’s ongoing efforts to improve network performance and resilience and keep the future of freight on track.

About The Opportunity
At ARTC, we're helping shape the future of Australia's rail network through the delivery of nationally significant infrastructure projects. We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager Commercial to provide strategic commercial leadership across a multi-billion-dollar portfolio of capital projects.
Reporting to the Director Infrastructure Projects, you will lead commercial governance, procurement, contract management, and risk mitigation activities to ensure successful project outcomes while maximising value and managing commercial risk.

Key Responsibilities
Lead commercial strategy across a $2.5B+ portfolio of nationally significant infrastructure projects. Drive major procurement, contract negotiation, and market engagement activities. Provide commercial assurance and strategic advice to senior executives and project leaders. Responsible for the management of complex claims, disputes, variations, and commercial risk. Build and develop a high-performing commercial and contract management team. Influence project outcomes through strong governance, commercial planning, and stakeholder engagement. Partner with Legal, Finance, Risk, Procurement, and Delivery teams to achieve successful project outcomes. Champion continuous improvement in commercial processes, systems, and contract administration practices.
What do we want from you?
To ensure success in this position, applicants will be able to demonstrate:
Degree qualifications in Business, Commerce, Law, Engineering, or a related discipline. Extensive experience in commercial management within major infrastructure, construction, transport, utilities, or resources projects. Proven success leading delivery strategy, procurement, contract negotiation, and contract administration for large-scale capital projects. Strong expertise in commercial risk management, claims assessment, and proactive and effective dispute resolution. Exceptional stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and influencing skills. Highly developed commercial acumen, analytical capability, and strategic thinking. Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to develop teams and strengthen commercial capability. Strong understanding of commercial governance, contract management, and project delivery frameworks.
