The Rural City of Murray Bridge are seeking a detail-oriented WHS professional to join our team on a fixed-term contract in the role of WHS & Risk Management Administration Officer, combining workplace safety expertise with strong administrative support to help maintain a safe, compliant and well-organised working environment.
Position Overview
The WHS & Risk Management Administration Officer provides high-quality administrative and coordination support to ensure the effective operation of RCMB’s Work Health, Safety and Risk Management systems. The role is responsible for maintaining accurate records and registers, supporting incident and hazard management processes, coordinating WHS documentation and reporting, and assisting with WHS committee, compliance and training activities to promote a safe, healthy and risk-aware workplace.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to Team Leader – WHS & Risk Management, responsibilities of this role include:
Provide general administrative support to the WHS and Risk Management function, including correspondence, file management, and coordination of meetings.
Provide administrative assistance relating to the Health and Safety Representatives (HSR) including scheduling HSR training, updating portals, and maintaining required records.
Provide high quality administrative support to the WHS committees including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, distributing papers and recording minutes.
Support identified programs and/or WHS & risk initiatives as required.
Assist in the coordination of incident and hazard investigations, ensuring follow-up actions are completed within required timeframes.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
Completion of Year 12 or equivalent with relevant experience in a similar role (Essential).
Experience in providing high-quality administration support including scheduling, meeting coordination, agenda/minute preparation and accurate data entry.
Experience in computerised applications, systems and web-based technologies such as Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
Experience maintaining records, registers or databases with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
An understanding of relevant legislation and contemporary best practice.
An understanding of the key principles of work health & safety and risk management.
Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or other related discipline (Desirable).

The position is offered as a full time, fixed term contract until 30 June 2027 General Officer Level 4 in accordance with the South Australian Municipal Salaried Officers Award and Council’s current Enterprise Agreement within an annual salary range of $91,480 to $98,107 dependent upon skills, knowledge and experience.
