Technology Design Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Technology Design Engineer to join our team, working in a hybrid model while providing dedicated support to a high-profile enterprise client. Responsibilities Design and deliver cloud-native and hybrid cloud solutions aligned to performance, scalability, resilience, and security requirementsManage the end-to-end lifecycle of cloud platforms, including provisioning, deployment, and decommissioningDevelop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates and standardised deployment patternsPartner with platform users to identify bottlenecks, optimise resources, and improve efficiencyImplement security and governance controls, ensuring best practices and enabling secure self-service capabilitiesProvide subject matter expertise across cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and DevSecOps practicesCollaborate with architecture teams and external partners to integrate emerging technologies and scalable design patternsDesign and implement observability solutions, including monitoring, alerting, and performance insightsProvision and manage cloud resources such as virtual machines, containers, and serverless servicesDeliver Level 2/3 support, including troubleshooting and root cause analysis to maintain service performanceAnalyse monitoring and performance data to drive continuous optimisation and improvementsCoordinate with vendors to ensure delivery meets quality, timelines, and technical standards Qualifications Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer, Platform Engineer, or ServiceNow/Infrastructure Engineer in an enterprise environmentStrong knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g. Azure, AWS) and hybrid cloud architecturesHands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or similarSolid understanding of DevOps and DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD pipelinesExperience with containers and orchestration (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes) and/or serverless technologiesDemonstrated ability to design and support scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutionsStrong experience in monitoring, observability, and performance optimisationUnderstanding of security, governance, and compliance controls within cloud environmentsExperience providing L2/L3 support, including troubleshooting and root cause analysisAbility to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external vendorsExcellent problem-solving, communication, and organisational skillsRelevant certifications (e.g. Azure, AWS, or DevOps) are highly regarded Duco is an equal-opportunity employer committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
