We are seeking an experienced hands-on Signage Production Manager to oversee our workshop operations, lead a skilled production team, and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standard.

This role is ideal for an experienced sign maker ready to step into a leadership position, or an established production manager who enjoys staying involved on the tools when required.

About the Role

As our Signage Production Manager, you will take ownership of day-to-day workshop operations while remaining actively involved in production activities.

You will coordinate workflow, manage resources, maintain quality standards and support the team to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical signage knowledge, excellent leadership skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage daily workshop operations and production schedules

  • Lead, mentor and support the production team

  • Allocate labour and resources to maximise efficiency

  • Maintain high standards of quality control across all projects

  • Interpret drawings, specifications and job documentation

  • Coordinate with project managers, installers and suppliers

  • Monitor project timelines, budgets and material requirements

  • Ensure compliance with WHS policies and safe work practices

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives

  • Assist with fabrication and production tasks when required

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience in the signage industry

  • Previous experience leading teams within a production environment

  • Strong knowledge of signage fabrication methods, materials and installation processes

  • Experience with large-format signage, illuminated signs and architectural signage

  • Ability to read technical drawings and production documentation

  • Strong organisational and time management skills

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities

  • A positive, can-do attitude with a focus on teamwork

  • Current driver's licence

Desirable Skills
  • Trade qualification in signwriting or a related field

  • Experience using signage software such as Adobe Illustrator and production management systems

  • Knowledge and experience operating CNC machinery, including routing and file preparation workflows

  • Metal fabrication experience, including welding, assembly and finishing techniques

  • Understanding of fabrication drawings, materials and manufacturing processes

  • Forklift licence, EWP or other relevant tickets
