POSITION OVERVIEW
We are looking for a technically skilled and relationship-focused Key Account Manager to manage and grow a portfolio of our most important customers. This is a senior individual contributor role — you will be the primary point of contact for key clients, responsible for understanding their technical needs, delivering exceptional service, and identifying opportunities to deepen and expand each relationship.
You will work closely with our production, marketing, business development, and finance teams to ensure clients receive accurate, timely, and professional support at every touchpoint. Most of your administration and documentation will be handled independently, with support available from our finance and sales admin teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Account Management
• Own and manage a defined portfolio of key accounts as the primary relationship holder
• Develop a thorough understanding of each client's business, technical requirements, and goals
• Proactively engage with clients to review needs, present solutions, and ensure ongoing satisfaction
• Drive account retention, growth, and renewal through consistent value delivery
• Identify and act on upsell and cross-sell opportunities within the existing account base
New Account Onboarding
• Lead the onboarding of newly acquired accounts into your portfolio
• Ensure a smooth, professional transition that sets the foundation for a long-term relationship
• Coordinate internally with production, finance, and admin to deliver a seamless client experience
Customer Service & Communication
• Serve as a responsive, knowledgeable, and trusted contact for clients via phone and email
• Handle enquiries, technical questions, pricing discussions, and issue resolution promptly
• Maintain a consistently high standard of professionalism in all client interactions
• Represent the business with confidence when discussing RF, antenna, and electronics product specifications
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work alongside the production team to communicate client requirements and manage expectations around lead times and custom orders
• Collaborate with marketing and business development to support campaigns, proposals, and strategic account planning
• Liaise with the finance team for quoting, invoicing queries, and account reporting
• Utilise sales admin support for order processing and logistics coordination
Procurement
• Source and coordinate product supply for accounts where standard stock does not meet client requirements
• Liaise with suppliers on pricing, availability, lead times, and custom or non-standard product requirements
• Obtain and evaluate supplier quotes, negotiating favourable terms on behalf of the business and client
• Work closely with internal teams to align procurement activity with production schedules and client deadlines
• Manage client expectations around supply constraints, offering suitable alternatives where required
• Maintain accurate procurement records including purchase orders, supplier correspondence, and delivery documentation
Administration & Documentation
• Independently manage the majority of account documentation including quotes, proposals, correspondence, and CRM records
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of account activity, communication history, and pipeline status
• Prepare regular account reports and sales forecasts as required
• Contribute to ecommerce platform management and online product/account activity where applicable
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Essential
• Minimum 10 years of technical sales experience, ideally within RF, electronics, communications, or a related industry
• Demonstrated ability to manage and grow complex, high-value client relationships independently
• Strong technical literacy with the ability to understand and communicate product specifications confidently
• Excellent phone manner and interpersonal communication skills
• High level of initiative and self-organisation — comfortable managing own workload and administration
• Proficiency in CRM systems, MS Office, and standard business tools
Qualifications
• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in RF Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical discipline (preferred)
• Equivalent professional experience in a technical sales environment will also be considered
Desirable
• Familiarity with ecommerce platforms and online sales channels
• Experience in a manufacturing or production-aligned sales environment
• Exposure to marketing and business development processes
KEY COMPETENCIES
• Relationship-first mindset with a genuine focus on client success
• Technical confidence — able to hold credible product conversations with engineers and procurement teams alike
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail and pride in documentation quality
• Self-motivated and dependable — takes ownership without needing to be managed
• Collaborative and easy to work with across departments
• Adaptable and calm under pressure in a fast-moving environment
WHAT WE OFFER
• A senior individual contributor role with real ownership of meaningful client relationships
• A supportive, cross-functional team environment
• Opportunities for professional development and growth
• Competitive remuneration package commensurate with experience
