Our global glass business produces a range of glass bottles and containers through seven manufacturing sites strategically located near key beverage production regions and customers. Our network supplies high-end, luxury glass bottles for leading wines and spirits brands worldwide, as well as the broader commercial wine and beer industry.

The Role

The New Product Development (NPD) Manager will run customer-focused product development and support technical packaging quality for Saverglass across the APAC region. In this role, you will act as the main project manager to take complex design briefs from the initial idea all the way through to trial runs and manufacturing.

Location & Travel Flexibility:

  • Base: Flexible - choose between our Saverglass Head Office in Adelaide or Gawler Glass Plant
  • Interstate/Local Travel: Travel between both locations is required
  • International Travel: Includes an initial training period of a few weeks in France
Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the project manager for customer NPD briefs, establishing development schedules, tracking key milestones, and coordinating cross-functional activities across internal teams and external partners
  • Study customer specifications to develop functional parameters, organise product FMEAs, prepare Specific Instruction Sheets, and verify line operability during initial production runs
  • Maintain a regular customer-facing presence across the APAC region, advising on available technical solutions and presenting technological innovations to optimise packaging conditions
  • Analyse technical problems to assess complaint validity, lead causal root-cause analyses, and collaborate closely with the quality team to implement CAPA and close dispute files
About You
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial), Materials Science, or a related discipline
  • Proven track record in New Product Development (NPD) and customer technical support, ideally within the glass packaging industry
  • Exceptional customer-facing communication, relationship-building, with the confidence to present complex technical content
  • Strong project management exposure, with a demonstrated ability to self-manage workloads and drive project timelines forward
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and documentation skills; meticulous attention to detail
