Systems AdministratorEmployer:&nbsp;A BLOCK ADELAIDE PTY LTD&nbsp;ABN:&nbsp;73 673 975 276Location:&nbsp;Adelaide, South Australia 5000Employment type:&nbsp;Full-time (Minimum 38 per week or more if required by the employer)Salary:&nbsp;AUD $90,000 – $105,000 per annum, exclusive of superannuation(Advertisement run by Efficient Recruitment services Pty ltd on behalf of A BLOCK ADELAIDE PTY LTD) <h3>Benefits</h3> <h3>Task & responsibilities</h3>The Systems Administrator will:<ul><li>Build, configure and keep current the operating platforms used by the business and its managed-service clients, including the servers, supporting applications and data stores that sit underneath day-to-day operations.</li><li>Shape how information is organised across those platforms, including the layout of records, field definitions and consistent naming, so that data remains usable and reliable as systems grow.</li><li>Put in place routine copy and restore arrangements, control who can reach which systems, and keep the company ready to bring services back if an outage or security event occurs.</li><li>Write and update the practical instructions, internal standards and run-books that the technical team uses, and keep an accurate record of changes, incidents and system activity.</li><li>Validate patches, version changes and configuration updates before they go live, recreate reported problems, record what was found, and close each issue under the firm’s quality process.</li><li>Investigate and correct faults on servers, related software, end-user machines and network links, staying with the job until the affected service is stable again.</li><li>Review how equipment, applications and connectivity sit together at each location, adjust settings where performance is dropping, and advise management when additional capacity or a refresh is needed.</li><li>Work with external security product vendors and contracted suppliers, select and look after protective tools in use, and check that agreed service levels are being met.</li></ul> <h3>Qualification & experience</h3><ul><li>Bachelor degree or higher qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science or a closely related field (or equivalent relevant experience and/or vendor certification).</li><li>At least one year or more relevant experience administering operating systems, servers, associated software and databases in a production or managed-service environment.</li><li>Demonstrated experience establishing and maintaining backup, recovery, access-control and system-security processes.</li><li>Ability to diagnose and resolve server, workstation and communications faults and to document systems, procedures and operational records to a professional standard.</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills and the capacity to work as part of a local technical team supporting both internal infrastructure and client environments.</li></ul>
