Kumarangk Hindmarsh Island Landcare Group is a not-for-profit, environmental organisation whose mission is to work actively with private and government landholders with the aim of restoring and re-establishing vegetation communities which are richly biodiverse, resilient to climate change and create connected wildlife habitat.   Kumarangk Hindmarsh Island Landcare Group are winners of multiple environmental awards and have planted over 700,000 plants on Kumarangk/Hindmarsh Island over the last 25 years - Make a difference - join our team.  As part of our team of Conservation Field Workers you will:                                                                                 Work closely with your team to deliver landscape-scale projects in all kinds of weather  Brush cut, augur, water, plant, guard - this season is focussed largely on revegetation Maintain a safe working environment Maintain and care for company equipment, tools and vehicles   Be physically fit, able to do repetetive tasks (planting is an 'up/down' kinda thing), use equipment like brush cutters and augurs Plant oxygen for a living What we would like you to have: Be physically fit and able to conduct all manual tasks  The ability to work with minimal supervision to follow assigned tasks Highly motivated and self-driven  Ability to work efficiently within a team  Must have valid driver's licence and own vehicle (there is no public transport on Hindmarsh Island) Extra stuff that would be nice:  Knowledge of Fleurieu Peninsula ecosystems and plant identification, particularly those indigenous to Hindmarsh Island A strong interest in conservation  Certification in chemical handling  Proficiency with power equipment such as brush cutters and petrol augers  Maintenance skills for equipment  Towing & 4WD experience  Nursery propagation skills and experience  This is a great job for those working towards a Qualification in Conservation and Ecosystem Management, Horticulture, Environmental Science etc or for those who just love to work in the great outdoors.
