About the role
1947 Coffeee Co is seeking a Cook to join our team on a casual basis. This role is based in Clearview, SA 5085 and offers the opportunity to prepare and serve quality meals in a professional hospitality environment. As a Cook, you will play an important part in ensuring that visitors and staff have access to well-prepared food and beverages during their time at our facilities. This is a flexible, casual position that allows you to work on an as-needed basis whilst maintaining high standards of food preparation and presentation.
Key responsibilities
Prepare meals and dishes according to established recipes, menus and presentation standards
Ensure all food is cooked to the correct temperature and meets food safety and hygiene standards
Maintain a clean and organised kitchen workspace, including proper storage and rotation of ingredients
Follow all food safety regulations and best practices to prevent contamination and foodborne illness
Communicate effectively with the kitchen team and management regarding special dietary requirements or menu changes
Monitor food inventory and assist with ordering supplies as directed
Operate kitchen equipment safely and maintain equipment in good working order
Support other kitchen staff and contribute to the smooth running of meal service
What we're looking for
Proven experience as a Cook or in a similar food preparation role within a hospitality or institutional setting
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cook or in a similar food preparation role
Solid knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods and food safety practices
Understanding of dietary requirements and ability to cater to special needs where required
Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work efficiently during busy service periods
Excellent personal hygiene and commitment to maintaining clean kitchen standards
Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from senior kitchen staff or management
Current Food Safety Supervisor or equivalent qualification (desirable)
Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification (desirable)
Valid Working With Children Check and Working With Vulnerable People screening (may be required depending on role requirements)
Must have valid work rights in Australia including valid work visa
