Medical Administration Manager – Icon Cancer Centre North Adelaide

This patient-facing role reports to the Site Manager and is responsible for leading the administration team in providing high levels of service to patients, doctors, and clinical teams. The role requires close coordination with all disciplines and includes team management, billing, data entry and auditing, rostering, site maintenance, training and development, and oversight over other daily activities. It is a full-time permanent position, working 76 hours per fortnight (5 days a week, Monday to Friday, between 7:30am and 6:00pm).

Key Responsibilities
  • Offer a warm, safe, and supportive environment for all stakeholders, including patients, doctors, and external visitors.
  • Provide supervision and oversight of the Administration team, identifying and providing opportunities for ongoing training and support.
  • Ensure timely and coordinated patient appointment times and effective reception services.
  • Facilitate recruitment of the administration team.
  • Process Medicare and private billing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legislative requirements.
  • Ensure accuracy in patient medical records and maintain privacy standards.
  • Participate in and contribute to facility accreditation processes.
  • Implement practice changes and quality improvements within the team.
  • Under guidance of the Site Manager, manage resources to meet KPIs and targets.
  • Work productively and collaboratively with other leaders to deliver high levels of patient care.
About You

We are searching for an enthusiastic Medical Administration Manager with outstanding presentation and customer service skills. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, positive, and capable of managing day-to-day administration activities and providing occasional assistance across all sites.

Skills & Experience
  • Experience leading a team in the provision of high levels of service to patients or customers.
  • Well-rounded understanding of health administration within a high-care medical environment.
  • Ability to work autonomously and effectively in a team, plan, coordinate and organise workloads to achieve high-quality patient service outcomes on time.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively.
  • Prior knowledge and experience in training and development programmes.
  • Proven ability to establish successful customer relationships with patients, doctors and other stakeholders.
  • Excellent computer skills and eye for continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of legislative requirements in a health care setting (desirable).
  • Qualification or training in management and leading teams (desirable).
