About the roleGerman Community Services Inc. is seeking a qualified Diversional Therapist to deliver structured leisure and activity programs for older people within a CHSP-funded, centre-based service.
The role operates in a culturally specific aged care environment, supporting clients from diverse backgrounds, with a focus on the German-speaking community.
Key dutiesPlan, coordinate and deliver diversional therapy and leisure activity programs
Facilitate group and individual activities that support wellbeing and social connection
Ensure activities are client-centred, culturally appropriate and aligned to client needs
Support client engagement, independence and participation
Maintain required documentation and reporting standards
Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers to deliver programs
Contribute to ongoing improvement of activity services
Qualification in Diversional Therapy, Leisure and Health, Recreation Therapy or equivalent OR
Minimum 3 years’ experience in aged care, community services or diversional therapy
Experience delivering structured group programs for older people
Strong communication, planning and interpersonal skills
Current First Aid Certificate
Current National Police Check, Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check
Current driver’s licence
German language skills
Knowledge of German culture and traditions
Experience working in culturally diverse or culturally specific aged care settings
