Position Overview:

As our State Manager in South Australia, you'll be responsible for running our South Australian operations and key in maintaining the efficiency and growth of the branch. Each of our branches are run as independent businesses, with their own targets and objectives and you will have the opportunity to head the business up with support from our head office team.

You will be leading and guiding the local team which consists of sales and operations. You will be developing relationships with our existing and new clients, you will drive the branch to exceed revenue targets while maintaining high levels of client satisfaction. Reporting directly to the Group Operations Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in fostering client relationships, nurturing talent, and achieving our company's ambitious goals.

About You:

• You have experience in the transport industry.

• You are business minded and understand that you will need to take full responsibility over the branch and run it as if it were your business.

• Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role with proven ability to generate sales, increase a client base, customer service, build a team, manage HR responsibilities, maintain professional relationships and provide solutions.

• Demonstrated experience monitoring the marketplace to identify business opportunities with the ability to rapidly acquire technical expertise and knowledge of company products.

• Proven history of gross margin management to maximise financial performance.

• Sound practical knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office, CRM and TMS software.

• Proven team management and leadership skills in a challenging environment. You know the difference between leading and managing and feel that you have the skillset to do both.

• Strong level of interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact and work with all stakeholders.

• A preparedness to learn, implement and manage new work practices, systems and procedures.

• Ability to work unsupervised; accept responsibility and act on directives.

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with sound technical competence.

• Self-motivated, highly efficient, proactive and professional with a respect for confidentiality.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

• Managing the day to day running of the Branch and taking full responsibility for achieving the goals and targets. This includes all operational and administrative aspects, including branch financial management, operations, client services and staff management.

• Leading the overall account management of the South Australian Branch, including the development and execution of account management plans.

• Ensuring customer satisfaction and swift issue resolution through strong client relationships.

• Analysing local market conditions, developing forecasts, financial objectives and business plans for the branch in conjunction with head office.

• Collaborating with the sales team to facilitate branch growth.

• Building, coaching, and leading a high-performing team to produce exceptional results.

• Guaranteeing compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and ethical standards.

• Lead tenders, collaborating with pricing, finance, senior management and sales teams to ensure competitive pricing and high-quality service offering.

• Staying ahead of the competition by monitoring market trends and competitor activities.

• Collaborate with other branches and senior managers, sharing information on effective practices, competitive intelligence, business opportunities and needs.

• Develop and implement monthly sales, growth and profitability plans in line with Metro Express account management principles, ensuring effective execution to achieve revenue, retention and account profitability objectives.

• Continuous improvement of branch operations.
