 About the Opportunity 

Due to growth of the College, St Columba is looking for a Grounds and Maintenance Officer to join our Grounds team. The Grounds and Maintenance Officer has the responsibility of ensuring that the presentation of the College buildings and grounds are safe and well presented.

Your Responsibilities: 

  • Undertake the upkeep of play spaces, sports grounds and building surrounds

  • Maintain the work shed and its contents, in a neat, orderly, and functional manner.

  • Assist with the setup and clean-up of events and functions as required.

  • Ensure general repairs and maintenance to buildings, fittings, and fixtures occurs in a timely manner to meet functionality and safety requirements.

About You: 

  • Trade certificate or equivalent desirable.

  • Horticulture experience desirable.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in safely and responsibly operating and maintaining minor plant and equipment, e.g. chainsaw, ride-on mower, edge trimmer, leaf blower, etc.

  • High level interpersonal skills to interact positively with the school community and be a positive role model and professional representative.

  • Willingness to actively and positively uphold and contribute to the culture and ethos of the College.

The successful candidates will be required to undergo our screening process, which includes a Working with Children Check, E-Screen, Applicant Declaration Form and RHAN.
