Maintenance Fitter
We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join a fast-paced industrial operation based in Adelaide. This is a hands-on role working across a broad range of plant and equipment, supporting production through proactive and reactive maintenance.
Our client specialises in the large-scale processing, cleaning, and distribution of linen products, operating advanced industrial equipment to deliver high-volume, quality-controlled outcomes. With a strong focus on reliability, hygiene standards, and operational efficiency, they play a critical role in supporting essential services across their customer base
This position operates 9am to 5pm or similar. Flexibility is essential, with availability required for overtime, weekends, and public holidays as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Repair and maintain plant machinery and equipment, including continuous batch washers, dryers, ironer lines, conveyors, compressors, and pumps
Diagnose faults and repair or replace control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, push buttons, contactors, and low-voltage motor starters
Complete work orders, scheduled inspections, and equipment adjustments
Fabricate and modify both new and existing equipment
Actively participate in safety, health, and environmental initiatives
Undertake additional maintenance tasks as required across the site
Experience & Skills
Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering OR strong, proven on-the-job experience (time-served)Strong background in pneumatics, mechanical systems, basic repairs, and fabrication
Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues efficiently
Competency using welders, drill press, grinders, hand tools, and other metalworking equipment
Ability to produce clear, detailed maintenance and repair reports
Strong communication, time management, and organisational skills
Basic computer skills with the ability to learn maintenance management systems
High Risk – Standard Boiler Licence (highly desirable)
