Support Worker - servicing all areas in Adelaide.

My Choice and Network is an agency that supports people with disabilities and their families. We offer our participants the Choice and Network and provide them with opportunities and services to achieve their goals.

Tasks & Responsibilities (but aren’t limited to) 

Work alongside our clients to support and assist them with all aspects of daily living, community access and social inclusion.

• Assist participants with a range of personal activities including hygiene support, medication assistance, domestic assistance, meal planning and cooking as required.

• Assistance with community access and transport

• Promote and assist Clients to live an active, healthy and positive lifestyle

• Follow all organisational policies and procedures.

• Any other reasonable duties as required.

• Understand the individual needs of our clients and be able to use your initiative 

• Willingness and ability to work with complex and challenging behaviours

• Willingness to work shorter shifts (2hrs) in conjunction with longer shifts

• Available to work early morning, day and evening shifts, including the weekend and Public Holidays. 

Qualifications & Experience

• Must have completed a minimum Certificate III Qualification in Disability or equivalent (Mandatory).

• Assistance with Medication Certificate (Mandatory)

• Experience working with clients with varying needs - experience with complex behaviours & PEG feeding (Desirable)  

• Experience in Disability Services/Aged Care 

• Mental Health training (Desirable)

• A Current Manual Handling Certificate.

• Spoken second language (Desirable but not essential)

Mandatory

• A current DHS Working with Children’s Check & current NDIS Worker Screen Check (DHS clearances are acceptable if obtained within the previous 3 years)

• Hold a current unrestricted SA Drivers Licence and have access to a reliable car, including car insurance.

• A current First Aid/CPR Certificate (Essential)
