About the role
Mount Barker Waldorf School is seeking a skilled, courteous and professional Front Office Administration Officer to join the team in Mount Barker, SA to cover a period of Maternity Leave from July 2026 to April 2027.
The successful applicant will work well in a team environment and have strong interpersonal skills. They will be able to take initiative and welcome flexibility in their duties. They will play a vital role in supporting the School's day-to-day operations.
As a valued member of our Front Office team, you will be a welcoming first point of contact for students, families, and the wider community, working collaboratively to provide thoughtful administrative support and uphold our commitment to a warm, professional, and caring service. Tasked with Administration – Student Focus you will be responsible for timely recording and management of student attendances and absences.
Commencing Week 1 Term 3 2026, this is a Contract role at 37.5 hours per week.
Responsibilities
Greeting and directing visitors, students, and staff in a friendly and professional manner
Providing First Aid to staff and students when required
Managing all First Aid facilities including on-site and Camp kits
Managing daily rolls and ensuring all students are accounted for at all times
Maintaining and organising the Front Office area including providing all associated administrative support
Working as part of the Administration Team and taking on other duties as required
Required Experience
Proven experience in a customer service or reception role, preferably in an educational or administrative environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with a diverse range of people
Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
Proficient in the use of digital communication tools and software
A friendly, professional, and reliable demeanour
A commitment to providing high-quality service and supporting the School’s mission and Steiner values.
Essential Requirements
Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect (RRHAN-EC)
Current First Aid qualifications
Experience and proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
Desirable Requirements
Experience and proficiency in the use of TASS, SchoolBox and Consent2Go
Experience in and an understanding of the independent schooling sector, particularly within the Steiner/Waldorf environment.
