About The Role

The Accounts Receivable Officer is responsible for the billing, receipting, and reconciliation of patient accounts following discharge. Working within the Patient Services Department and reporting to the Accounts Receivable Supervisor / Patient Services Manager, this role plays a key part in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant revenue processing within a private hospital setting.

The position involves preparing and reviewing nil-insured quotes, following up health fund certificates, processing patient and third-party payments, and issuing public patient invoices to the Department of Health. The Accounts Receivable Officer liaises directly with health funds, government bodies, and external organisations to resolve queries, progress outstanding accounts, and ensure accounts are finalised efficiently.

This role requires a high level of attention to detail, accuracy, and adherence to established billing procedures and hospital policies. The Accounts Receivable Officer works collaboratively with the broader Patient Services team to support daily operations, meet billing deadlines, and contribute to a patient-focused and financially sustainable service.

About You

Strong clerical and administrative skills, complemented by well-developed interpersonal abilities.
Excellent customer service and communication skills, with a professional and courteous phone manner.
Demonstrated computer literacy, including accurate and efficient keyboard skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Proven ability to plan, prioritise, and manage workload with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
