Contract Specialist

The Opportunity

An established project delivery business is seeking an experienced Contract Specialist to support the successful commercial management of major projects across engineering, construction and industrial sectors.

Reporting to senior project leadership, you will be responsible for the administration of client and subcontractor contracts, ensuring contractual obligations are met, risks are effectively managed, and commercial outcomes are maximised throughout project delivery.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded professional who enjoys working closely with project teams and stakeholders to drive strong contractual and financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and administer client and subcontractor contracts
• Provide commercial and contractual advice to project delivery teams
• Assist with contract negotiations and execution activities
• Identify, assess and manage contractual and commercial risks
• Prepare and submit progress claims, variations, extension of time claims and delay notices
• Review subcontractor claims and recommend payments
• Maintain contract registers, correspondence and project records
• Track costs, payments and contract performance
• Support project forecasting and commercial reporting activities
• Assist with dispute resolution and contract close-out processes
• Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders

About You

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Bring

• Proven experience in contract administration or contract management within a project or construction environment
• Strong understanding of commercial contracts and contract administration processes
• Experience managing claims, variations, payment schedules and contractual correspondence
• Excellent contract review and negotiation skills
• Strong commercial acumen and risk management capability
• High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills

Desirable

• Tertiary qualification in Business, Commercial Law, Construction, Engineering or a related discipline
• Training in contract law, contract administration or project management
• Experience with Pronto or similar financial management systems
• Exposure to industrial, engineering, infrastructure or construction projects
