Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant, we are seeking a Financial Accountant who will support the wider Finance function by delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards and tax obligations, and contributing to strong internal controls and business decision-making. 

The Role 

In this role, you will: 

  • Prepare and maintain accurate general ledger records across the Group. 
  • Manage the Group’s Fixed Asset Management System, including asset additions, depreciation, and disposals for accounting and tax purposes.  
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journals, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting activities. 
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances where required. 
  • Support the preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS/AASB standards. 
  • Assist with Group reporting requirements and consolidation activities, including inter-company eliminations. 
  • Support internal and external audit processes by preparing documentation and responding to information requests.  
  • Assist with preparation and lodgement of GST, FBT, and other taxation requirements. 
  • Support corporate tax compliance and liaise with external tax advisors as required. 
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and internal financial requirements.  
  • Contribute to finance projects, process improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives across the Group.  
  • Promote behaviours aligned with Sarah Group values and QHSE standards. 

Requirements

About You 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline. 
  • CA/CPA qualified or currently working towards qualification.  
  • Strong understanding of Australian taxation requirements and IFRS/AASB standards.  
  • Good understanding of consolidation processes and inter-company eliminations.  
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft 365 skills. 
  • Experience working within professional services and/or construction industries (desirable).  
  • Exposure to ERP systems such as Xero or similar platforms (highly regarded).  
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical capability, and problem-solving skills.  
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.  
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a collaborative and proactive approach. 
  • High level of integrity, accountability, and commitment to continuous improvement.
